Albums

The discography of American rock band Toto includes 13 studio albums, four live albums, and several compilations. In addition to releasing original music, Toto has also done work with other artists and on soundtracks for films. The group has won multiple Grammy Awards.

Before the formation of Toto the band, members performed sessions for other musicians. David Paich, the son of session drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all played on Boz Scaggs’ 1975 album Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in 1976 in the wake of the collaboration.

Turn Back, Toto's third studio album, was criticized by critics for lacking hit singles. In 1985 the singer Fergie Frederiksen quit the group, and the group held auditions for a new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the band recorded the 1986 album Fahrenheit.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to mark its 20th anniversary. The group went through old tapes and recordings to create the unique record. The album was well-loved by fans and the band embarked upon a tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

During the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun, drummer Leland Sklar left the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In the year 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included recordings from the tour and also an interview with the group.

Toto is a rock band from the United States. It was formed in Van Nuys in Greater Los Angeles in 1977. The six-member group consists of guitarist/vocalist Steve Lukather, bassist David Paich as well as keyboardist/vocalist Steve Porcaro, drummer Jeff Porcaro and guitarist and vocalist Joseph Williams. Toto has released a variety of music videos. The band has also released a number of compilation videos and DVDs. The band's most popular video is "Africa", with over one billion views. The video takes place in a library, and shows the band performing in front of a stack of books about Africa.

In 1998, Toto started working on an album titled Old Is New. This album featured three new tracks as well as a number of completed recordings of older songs. The album became a huge success and the band went on tour to promote it.

Toto is famous for their popular song "Africa" Recently, the band reunited to promote their new album, All In. The album, released on November 6, 2018 included three brand new tracks from the upcoming 40 Trips Around the Sun as also completed recordings of four older tracks with Jeff Porcaro playing drums and Mike or Steve Porcaro playing bass. The album also featured an original cover version of Weezer's song "Hash Pipe" that they added after hearing it on the radio.
